I’m moving!

Do you remember your first house or apartment? Not everything looked or fit the way you wanted but you could make do for a while or until you were ready to move into a bigger, better place. Well that is what I have been experiencing with this blog. It has been great to get started with but I have been feeling a bit “cramped” lately. So, I have moved from my starter Studio apartment to a Luxery Home with room to spare! Come on over to my new place and take a look around. My new address is www.sandishipleyphotography.com/blog.

I hope to see you soon!

Our Day

Today was one of those days. A perfect lazy Saturday morning. Curled up on the couch watching a movie with the kids when we first woke up. Ate breakfast at noon, stayed in our pajamas until sometime mid-day. Mark and the girls took a stroll around the block hitting up our neighboorhood garage sales looking for treasures. Friends came over and we played all day. The kids were having so much fun I just had to get out my camera to capture some of the giggles. So enjoy these moments from our day. Hope yours was wonderful, too!

Mel and Dixie  celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with a lovely party hosted by their daughter-in-law, Kim. Kim did a beautiful job with every detail of the party. The food was great and the atmosphere was just beautiful. The evening was topped off with music and dancing. Can you say Electric Slide? Boogie-woogie! Thank you for letting me capture these memories for you. It was an absolute pleasure sharing the day celebrating with the Patterson family! Here are a few of my favorites from the evening

Thank you for letting me share this fun evening with you!

My youngest daughter turned 4 years old on Sunday. I still find it so hard to believe I am completely out of the baby business. Seriously, I don’t even have a toddler anymore! But I do have a very fun, incredibly sweet little girl whom I just adore. We had a very fun day celebrating her! We BBQ’d (where else but Arizona can you BBQ in February?!), played games, had friends over and of course opened gifts. Here are a  few of my favorites from the day.

Meet beautiful Marie-elena. She called me on a Thursday and asked if there was any way she could be squeezed in before the following Tuesday, when she was scheduled to be induced. I had actually intended to take the week off so I did not have any sessions scheduled over the weekend.  I am a complete and total sucker for Belly shots so I said yes and we managed to fit in some time together. I am so glad we did! I had so much fun and Marie-elena was just beautiful. Every woman should feel this good about themselves just days before giving birth.

Thank you Marie-elena for letting me come hang out with you! I am looking forward to meeting Baby Stella and taking family pictures.

This post would not be complete without a picture of sweet Bijou, Mari-elena’s lovely black Great Dane . She was a riot at our session. Very curious and just had to be right there in the spotlight.

Paul and DeAnna

I was going through my pictures from the Holiday season and I can’t believe I did not post about this session! Meet Paul and DeAnna and their beautiful girls. These are friends of mine and I just love their family. I was pretty much brought to tears looking over their pictures, knowing the journey they have been on over the last year.

We started out in more formal Holiday clothes...

I am so blessed by your friendship, Paul and D! You make my heart so happy, seeing the joy in your family. I can’t wait to see where God will lead you both this year. Much love to you and thank you for letting me capture these sweet, sweet  moments!

Peyton and Spencer

You may remember a while back I wrote about a dad who had his girls photographed for his wife’s Christmas present. It was all a wonderful surprise for mom. Well, here are some of my favorites from our session. I must say I am so proud of Spencer and Peyton! Not a word was whispered to their mom or anyone else about her upcoming gifts. These girls were so much fun and just gorgeous. Look at those smiles! Serious points, for you Steve.  I am so glad you let me be a part of the surprise!

Oh how I just love newborn sessions, the sweet smell of new little ones, tiny fingers and precious little toes! Here is a session I did for the Curtis family. Sweet little Noah was born right before Christmas. He is just as cute as a button and has such a wonderful sweet family. Congratulations Todd and Nicole! Thank you for sharing this wonderful season with me :-)

For my next act…

Never knew I could perform magic tricks, did you?? Yet how else can I explain my disappearing act over the last month! Seriously, where have I been? I wish I could say I took the month off and went to a spa on a lovely tropical Island. Spent the last 30 days or so sunning myself, playing on the beach and drinking margaritas. Not!

So what have I been doing? Well let me just tell you! I have been busy, busy getting ready for a fabulous 2009. I got to go to ImagingUSA the first part of January. I came back so inspired and full to the rim with new ideas. Fun fun stuff on the horizon! I will be launching two new product lines in the very near future. I am so excited I can hardly sit still. However, I am learning to do things slowly. So as I hammer out all the details I will let you all know what is happening. Until then, thank you for your emails and calls. I am still here, doing well and looking forward to all 2009 has in store for all of us. Blessings to you and hope to shoot you soon!

Miss Gillian Young

I was so excited when I found out my dear friend Lisa was pregnant. Last month I got to spend time playing with her and her beautiful family while we did maternity pictures. Well, this past weekend I got to go meet little Miss Gillian. She’s here and she is so sweet! Here are a few of my favorites. I love you, Young family!
